Mapping of quantitative trait loci for resistance to turcicum leaf blight in maize (Zea mays L.)

چکیده

Turcicum Leaf Blight (TLB) is a common foliar disease of maize. The aim this study was to find quantitative trait loci (QTL) for TLB resistance in By crossing two inbred lines, CM 212 (susceptible) and 145 (resistant), mapping population developed, which evaluated environments namely E1 (Varanasi, U.P., India; 250 N, 830 E) E2 (Nagenahalli, Karnataka, 120 760 E). Data on four severity traits viz., Percent Disease Index (PDI), Area Under Progress Curve based PDI (AUDPC-PDI), Lesion (LA), LA (AUDPC-LA) were generated locating QTLs. Fifteen QTL intervals located chromosomes 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 9. Out these fifteen QTLs, QTLs reported 1 5 at E1; seven identified E2, where chromosome area under progress curve one lesion area. Additionally, pooled environment, six exhibited the LOD values range 2.64 7.77, corresponding R2 10.80 17.74 individual across

Analysis of quantitative trait Loci for resistance to southern leaf blight in juvenile maize.

ABSTRACT A set of 192 maize recombinant inbred lines (RILs), derived from a cross between the inbred lines Mo17 and B73, were evaluated as 3-week-old seedlings in the greenhouse for resistance to southern leaf blight, caused by Cochliobolus heterostrophus race O. Six significant (LOD >3.1) quantitative trait loci (QTL) were identified for disease resistance, located on chromosomes 1, 2, 3, 6, 7...

Quantitative Trait Loci for Mercury Accumulation in Maize (Zea mays L.) Identified Using a RIL Population

To investigate the genetic mechanism of mercury accumulation in maize (Zea mays L.), a population of 194 recombinant inbred lines derived from an elite hybrid Yuyu 22, was used to identify quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for mercury accumulation at two locations. The results showed that the average Hg concentration in the different tissues of maize followed the order: leaves > bracts > stems > a...

Mapping of quantitative trait loci associated with chilling tolerance in maize (Zea mays L.) seedlings grown under field conditions.

The effect of low growth temperature on morpho-physiological traits of maize was investigated by the means of a QTL analysis in a segregating F(2:3) population grown under field conditions in Switzerland. Chlorophyll fluorescence parameters, leaf greenness, leaf area, shoot dry weight, and shoot nitrogen content were investigated at the seedling stage for two years. Maize was sown on two dates ...

Mapping quantitative trait loci using naturally occurring genetic variance among commercial inbred lines of maize (Zea mays L.).

Many commercial inbred lines are available in crops. A large amount of genetic variation is preserved among these lines. The genealogical history of the inbred lines is usually well documented. However, quantitative trait loci (QTL) responsible for the genetic variances among the lines are largely unexplored due to lack of statistical methods. In this study, we show that the pedigree informatio...
